We are honored to announce the launch of “Advances in Sample Preparation” (SAMPRE), the new Gold Open Access (OA) Journal by Elsevier. The creation of this new journal echoes the exceptional growth and achievements of sample preparation. It also reflects the great efforts of our EuChemS-DAC Sample Preparation Study Group and Network.

SAMPRE will be devoted to publishing original high-quality research, reviews, opinions and tutorials dealing with all aspects of sample preparation. With your support, we will shape the future of sample preparation and transform this journal in a pivotal venue for sample preparation experts and the crossroad for scientists from different disciplines.

In SAMPRE, we are strongly committed to the landmark 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. To benefit the society and the environment, all articles published in SAMPRE will be consistent with green analytical chemistry principles and propose sustainable practices.

Elsevier supports SAMPRE and offers the following author publication costs (APC) waiving program to submissions: 100% waiving of the APC in the first year, and 50% for regular submitted articles in the second year. We are inviting you to visit this site and find out if a transformative agreement already exists between Elsevier and your home country/Institution. Several countries have signed agreements for reduced APC. There are also countries like Spain, Norway and Sweden that have signed agreements that allow authors to publish their research OA in Elsevier journals without having to pay an APC. It is expected that several new agreements will appear in the future. It is equally important to note that all authors that are based in a country eligible for the Research4Life program can publish OA for free or at a large discount.

As a community we will work intensively to create a successful journal that will advance, reveal, and envision everything in sample preparation.
